I was tinkering with the idea of creating a campaign for the Solomon map, but then I found the one that Lonestar67 had done a few years back. So I took it for a spin last night and promptly got killed. But what I saw looked good so I thought I'd give it a shout out here. In the custom campaign I am trying to get running, I am a little confused on a couple of items. I have set the following, thinking it will give me a clear division in which side occupies which part of the map, but it doesnt. DCG breaks it up into 3 different zones no matter what I do. allcampaigns.dcg [Australia] Campaign=Australia Map=Australia Date=01/11/1942 BugOutRadius=15 Attacker=Blue Front=Jardine_River DeHome=Katatai_Depot RuHome=Cape_York_Depot DeBase=Cape_York_Invasion_Beach RuBase=Higgins_Nr1_Airfield Locale1=Sidabadu_Airfield Locale2=Cape_York_Invasion_Beach I get this: what I would prefer is an initial zone straight across going through Moa Island, and …

when adding a supply ship, the standard "liquid cargo carrier" to the master mission of an external campaign, when pressing "generate" in IL2 it locks up, with the following message: why does it do this? this is the only thing different to the file that works ok?

I have made a custom campaign for a new map following the "create of an externalDCG campaign" tutorial. AFAIK I have done everything correctly, but when I click on "Generate" the button pushes in, but then IL2 sits there for about a minute, then there is a "ding" in the background and the button pops out. DCG error log has about a hundred reoccurances of the following four lines: [2014/11/15 12:28:37.95] Target Locations processed. [2014/11/15 12:28:37.98] Set Target Nation Began. [2014/11/15 12:28:37.101] Set Target Nation Ended. [2014/11/15 12:28:37.103] No campaign path located. [2014/11/15 12:28:37.106] No campaign.dcg file found. So what is the "campaign path" i…

Long time user of DCG. Love the program. Its the reason I have played IL2 off and on for years. Now, getting back into it after a long time away I noticed lots has changed. My good old DBW is now "outdated" until DBW2 comes out to support the changes in 4.12. So I went with HSFX. Been using DCG beta 3.48 with HSFX 7.0.3. Been doing just the default campaigns that come with DCG and enjoying them very much. Noticed some issues on the Eastern front with some of the PE-2's assigned to the LW and spawning in odd locations. Also noticed some ground forces wont move in to take objectives, and get caught in a loop when there campaign wont change. Anyway, since the ony…

I created a new campaign and in the first mission DCG generated only a couple of squadrons were being used and only one plane in each. Is this normal? Perhaps a "familiarisation" flight to get used to the map? The next mission more than half the squadrons were present and fully utilised, but after the carnage now DCG doesnt want to generate "big fight" missions anymore. Is it because squadron reserves are low? It also doesnt seem to want to utilise the remaining squadrons that havent been in the fight yet, I am up to mission 13 and they still havent been used. Is there anyway I can force DCG to use all (or nearly all) the squadrons available?

What makes DCG decide on the weather conditions? I am currently playing a (Modified) Singapore2 campaign with Carriers and Destroyers and DCG is determined to make nearly every mission of mine an anti shipping strike. Every time it makes an anti shipping mission it sets the weather to either "blind" or "hazy" which makes it very hard to find the ships. Is this hard coded into DCG or can it be adjusted? And is there any setting I can choose to give the anti shipping role to other more suitable squadrons, I am flying a spitfire that can carry 2 bombs, if I was to choose a different spitfire that has no bomb loadout option would DCG be aware of this and not give me the anti-…

DCG only allows medium and heavy bombers to be based at "airfields" Now I know the base gets it's name in the RDS file, but evry one I look at the name always matches what is on the map Does it matter if you dont use the same name? Ie could I use Vivigani airstrip and name it Vivigani_Airfield in the rds file and DCG will see it as an airfield and hence allow bombers? Or is the type of field locked in no matter what you name it?

Hi, Im fairly new to Il-2 46 and brand new to DCG. Myself and a few friends were thinking of a coop/multiplayer campaign, something dynamic. After some research I found DCG, but I am going to be honest I have no idea what to do and were to start. What I wanted to ask was is there a manual I can read through and maybe get the basics or some guide of some sort. Thanks in advance and apologies to bother with prob such a stupid question.

Well seeing there are train tracks in the singapore map I thought I would add some trains to the master mission to give more variety to the campaign. Seems it is not that simple When selecting a new campaign in IL21946 (DGEN replaced) IL21946 locks up and I get a "file not found" error from DCG and the following in DCGEROR.TXT: "There is a train in the column.dcg file in a campaign with no trains. Please remove the train from the column.dcg file to continue." So which file do I need to edit to make trains work? (I am really missing the tutorials from the old lowengrin site, does anyone have them?)

Hello! I'm pretty new to IL-2 1946 and I've read the Nuggets Flying guide, set up my difficulties and the like, and done a bit of the tutorials. My dogfighting and gunnery skills are still sub-par, but I've gotten enough flying experience and a little gunnery done, hit a target once or twice but thats about it. I understand a fair bit of flight systems and dynamics as I've flown in Rise of Flight and DCS mutliple times, however it's the campaign systems of 1946 and DCG that I'm interested in right now. Now to start off the questions, I want to start by asking about co-op campaigns through DCG. Can they be as dynamic as the singleplayer career mode? I'm REALLY into rea…

I remember I posted in this forum long time ago about a campaign issue that at the start of a mission, you see pink cowling with propeller instead sitting in your cockpit and the mission crashes. It's been a while and I couldn't find that post any more. I know someone gave an explanation of the cause of the issue. Is there anyway to find that post? or someone would care to re-explain the issue? Thanks

Does anyone know how to use the PilotType command? Per the description from DCG version 3.46: Added "PilotType" time table command to restrict squadrons to all human or all AI pilots for Coop and MDS missions. Not sure how to implement this into the time table and could not find any specific directions. Please help! -Mark

I'm starting to experiment with an online Coop campaign. In my 'modes' panel I only have 'On-Line Co-op' checked and nothing else. I have started and run the campaign via the instructions: Manual Mission Generation Mode (Pilot Career, Single Mission, Coop, or Dogfight). 1. Run DCG. 2. Select the mission mode: Coop, or Dogfight or Single Player Manual (SPManual = no mode checked). 3. If this is a new campaign, click on the "World" icon, otherwise skip to #6. 4. From the drop-down box that appears, select the country/service and campaign. 5. Click on the "Start Button". 6. Make any other changes such as squadron, plane, weather, etc. 7. Click the Generate Mission b…

This skin is listed in the stock timetable.dcg file for the [MarethLine43] campaign. I could not find it in my skin collection and looked around to a few of the other IL2/skin related sites with no joy. If not out there, can remove line from timetable, but wondering if it is indeed out there? ~S~ wind

May be am I stupid, but I realy have problems to understand how the _Dropzone works. How to use it? Wich rules? Wich effects if chutes are dropped at an ennemy location? At a friendly location? The X_Dropzone can it be a dead-end? A road must go from X_Dropzone to CityA or from CityA to X_Dropzone? I'm sure that I forget a lot of questions, so if your answers can be the more complete as possible you'll make me happy. More, english isn't my natural language so it can explain my difficulties to understand some fine details in your answers/explanations... Best regards.

I have been playing the DCG Pacific career and have the "Ships remain sunk" option checked. In my current career the Yorktown was sunk in the last mission of the Coral Sea campaign and re-appeared in the next mission, the first mission of the Midway campaign. Is that correct? Do ships 'remain sunk' only for the duration of a single campaign within a career?

Hi, I've just started using DCG and have a couple of questions. When I ran the 'Auto Generation Mode' I found that my pilot was always the last plane in his flight no matter what his rank. Now that I have switched to 'Full Auto Generation Mde' I find that I am always the squadron commander even though I am the lowest ranking pilot in the squad as an 'aviation pilot 1st class' (the lowest USN rank). I can't find a setting that controls this... what am I missing? Also, in 'Auto Generation Mode' I found that the rank/awards recorded in IL-2 did not match the rank and awards that DCG recorded. Kills, missions, flown and aircraft lost were all up-to-date, but…

The latest version of DBW 1916 is quite well crafted and contains a wealth of content to create some really nice campaigns of the WWI era. Thus, was thinking of exploring this area for a new DCG custom campaign. Though big question is the timeline. Does the current iteration of DCG still limit timelines to the WWII period date range? I remember this being a limitation for some earlier campaign efforts based on the Korean conflict. thoughts? ~S~ wind

Is it possible to design a DCG campaign using a new (modded map) by altering the user accessible dcg files? I suspect that the answer is no. If maps are coded in the actual DCG program, would it be possible to break the map list out the the hardcoded program and create some sort of user accessible file? Probably not that simple, just wondering.
