  2. A friend of mine recently went to the aviation museum in Ottawa and discovered their free 'Ace Academy' app for phones and tablets. It's really a kind of tour of some of the WWI exhibits in the museum (including a Shorthorn, JN-4 ['Canuck' variant, of course!], Nieuport 12, AEG G.IV, Junkers J.I and a Camel [shipborne version]) rather than a flying game; there's just one very brief and simple 'mission' at the end, and the whole thing takes no more than about 15-20 minutes to go through -- you can click past some of the introductory stuff and just look at some of the close-up photos of things in their collection. Might be of interest to those of you with connections to m…

Saw this on the DCS forum: Dear pilots, Due to some additional work that needs to be completed before we can release the Bf 109 K-4 open beta, Kurfürst will not be available in November as we had planned and hoped. However, it will just be delayed a few days until December 3rd, 2014. Also, a new DCS World Newsletter will also be released on December 3rd, 2014. Sorry for the delay, The Eagle Dynamics Team __________________ DCS World: http://www.dcs-world.com Falcon Northwest Tiki: i7 4770K, 8 GB RAM, GTX 780ti, Windows 8.1, and 512 GB SSD. Sorry, I updated the forum but missed that it was not working properly for the last 2 hours. This new update should fix some of the issues that IE users had in the forum.

Team Fusion's Friday update showed a video of WIP to arm the Tiger Moth. Not what I would have chosen to spend modeling time on, but still pretty interesting and impressive. Maybe someday ROF will see the benefits of community based efforts like what has happened in CLOD. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=192616

  7. Started by Klaiber,

Hi Guys, Thought you'd be interested in seeing this. I heard about this through work (I work in a library). This is a video of Allied strafing runs and air-to-air combat footage from 1945, which have recently been digitized by the National Archives: http://research.archives.gov/description/13693 Most of the German fighters seem to be Bf 109Gs. Probably a lot of G-6s and G-14s, with a few G-10 / Ks. At 1:43, you get a great shot a Bf 109s camouflage and "low-visibility" markings. And at 1:48, you can see a USAAF P-38 crossing underneath the gun-line of the attacking aircraft. And a couple of seconds later, you can see the German Bf 109 pilot thr…

I figured I'd start a new thread because the one that we had this discussion in contained a wide range of topics. He's a wood elf that's bundled up 24/7 with elven armor. The survival pack rounds out the look.

I can't seem to find the TS info on the site. Can someone PM me the info please? Or send me a link to somewhere that provides it? Thanks in advanced gentlemen. Just a quick update. il-2 1946, Cliffs of Dover, War Thunder are installed and graphics are jacked up to as high as they can go with no studders. Its amazing. My only issue so far is I downloaded DCS World and whenever I try to launch the game to fly it changes my resolution to something crazy low and I can't get it to change back. I have no idea why, also the views start going nuts and turning everywhere and I can't even seem to get into the cockpit, I'm sure that issue is just a key config issue but what…

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=132861 This just brings me visions of a JG1 aerobatic demonstration team. NOTE: I'm waiting on this one to get an advanced flight model before I consider picking it up. If they make a T-45 mod and AFM, I'm in!

The Military Aviation Museum is having it's annual Biplanes and Triplanes air show this weekend. Thought you all might be interested in one of our Fokker D.VII replicas with its brand new Lozenge fabric. This aircraft has a Hall-Scott engine, which is about as close the original BMW as we can get. S!

  22. Started by Heinrich,

Salute JG1, are there any JG1 members who already have pledged or thinking about joining the Star Citizen community? If so is it an idea to group together in an existing organization or to raise one our selves? I did join, out of fear that somewhere in the near future RoF will disappear and new WW I or II sims would give not historical correct performance for the Central/Axis side A/C. That would ruin my fun in flying on the "wrong" side Heinrich

S! Gentlemen.. and Labroisse After having escaped the internment camp, I am wondering if there is a squad presence other than in RoF? While the whirlygigs are fun I have been looking at starting back up with an eye to IL2 BoS. Is there anyone to direct this lost soul in the right direction. The pointy end still goes forward right?
