This looks very promising and also looks much easier to use than LotATC. I think they are hoping to release it to general public/server owners in the next few weeks.

  3. I've followed the instructions here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/79847-step-by-step-instructions-for-openxr-and-necksafer-for-wmr-sets/ (except for the part about launching IL2 from Steam) OpenComposite shows OpenXR selected, but when I run WMR and then IL2 (vr enabled), IL2 simply launches in full screen mode, no vr. I don't recall having this problem on my old machine (both W10). I've placed the 64b openvr_api in the /bin/game folder as instructed) With WMR running and openxr selected in OpenComposite, IL2 simply opens in a standard screen view, and the headset still shows the WMR cliff house. I've tried re-doing the entire openx…

I'm having two problems that may or may not be related to each other. Sometimes I can get Discord push to talk working when I open DCS, other times it doesn't work unless I select discord as active window. The second problem is if I am in DCS and tab out of it to open another window, the cursor will quit working if my headset is on. If I pull the headset away from my face I can move the cursor around the screen in DCS. I am hoping I solved the second problem by following the advice here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/268089-frozen-mousepointer-in-vr-not-a-windowsoutoffocusissue/ However, the first problem with Discord is still there after following most of …

Has anyone had this before? With my HPG2 when I would start DCS it wouldn’t align right which caused left and right eyes to be out of focus. VR centering wouldn’t fix it and one time the diff between headset and laptop display was 90 degrees off which was very sickening while in vr. I finally had to undo some changes I had made previously and put the vr on and remain fixed and still while starting DCS which seemed to help.

Discord kept crashing on me tonight. Google brought up these recommendations: In Discord, navigate to User Settings and click on it. In the left pane, scroll down to Appearance. Then in the right pane, scroll down to Hardware Acceleration and make sure it's turned off. Delete Discord app data. Press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, then type %AppData%. Go to C:\Users\Whoever you are \AppData\Roaming\discord\Cache\Cache_Data and delete everything in there. It was HUGE... 🦣 about 1.8TB (yes, I'm exaggerating, but it was very large) . I'm hoping that this works. Due to the enormous size of the Discord cache, I'm hopeful and think that …

Here they are. Put them in your kneeboard for the acft that you want to use to calibrate the PointCtrl. Let me know if you have questions... it can be confusing at first and you do have to close the kneeboard when actually doing the calibration. The cursors won't work with the kneeboard open. Since the instructions are in landscape, you have to drag the kneeboard wider. Watch Miles' video on calibration. You should do the initial calibration on flatscreen / monitor. I don't think I changed much of anything from the initial default settings.

Looks to be a scratch and dent sale at VIRPIL. 2 grips and a deck mount joystick base marked down. If this is something you have been wanting might be your chance to save some dough. The base is 26% off with 10% off the grips. VIRPIL EU - B-Stock - Shop (virpil-controls.eu)

Just ran across this vid and looks interesting. Started to follow but I didn't have the P-cores button option though I have an i-9 with what looks like 15 cores. From the comments it looks like the suggestion is to split the cores, put DCS dedicated on half of them and all the other processes on the other.

For those of you that use DLSS for DCS, there is a new version of DLSS driver out, v3.6.0. DCS currently uses version 3.5.0. Download it here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ Put the file in your main DCS Bin-MT folder. If you do a game repair or update, you'll have to replace it again. DCS Forums are saying that you should also get the newest Nvidia driver to take advantage of the changes. Seems clearer and less ghosting to me but could be placebo. Ferd

The Quest 3 app, has an "Auto Update" . The update breaks my DCS vr mode, game launch. Including breaking a complete new predestine install. Reinstall the app version before the update, launches....4hrs later, auto update, game crashes on load up. Just found the post. Hello everyone, I'm trying to get back into flying, having last flown over a decade ago with a computer that was a bit old even then. Well, same computer now, so I figured I'd need to upgrade. First question is on requirements to fly great battles - is it really intensive or, like IL-2 used to be, somewhat forgiving even on dated systems? Would something like the system below be adequate? Any recommendations on where to focus (graphics card, memory, etc.)? I'm trying to keep the system reasonably fast without breaking the bank. Two teenagers that eat us out of house and home... I just noticed this and I'm not sure how long it's been going on. PC seems to be running fine. Google search found that updating / flashing the BIOS might fix it. Others said they had to do a fresh Windows 11 install. Anyone have ideas?

Well, I wanted to get some Virpil pedals but they always seem to be out of stock. Seems to have gotten worse over the last couple of years. Anyways, I got a set Turtle Beach Velocity 1 Rudder Pedals. I had only recently heard of Turtle Beach because a coworker bought a Jstik from them. It seems they kind of occupy the Xbox system, or did. These rudder pedals are very nice. Well built and heavy. I was using CH pedals. They came with smaller type footbeds, and some different springs. I like the stock large beds. They are adjustable for width, I like the factory set width but that is an option for those wanting a change. I am very happy w…

Haven't been able to get it to connect to DCS yet! missing something (Oculus app + air link (cable on the way)) But just shot out all of my real walls, (pass through and room mapping) while at the same time tribbles, were coming out at me, from behind, and over the furniture, and through the holes in my walls. I noticed all you cats and your fancy WMR headsets (I used to be one, too), getting all sorts of benefits with OpenXR, but that didn't affect me since I mainly fly DCS straight from Oculus. One of the things that has kept me away from IL-2 is the use of SteamVR and having 2 programs running to project VR. Now that they dropped a C-47 pilot career, I looked around at options to get out of SteamVR and found it's been there for ~4 years! NOTE: This is for Oculus headset users, only! For all others, use OpenXR! UPDATED site and guide: https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/opencomposite Discord server invite. I know what my project will be this we…

This is on a Virpil CM3 Throttle but the idea should work on any Mini-stick. Having messed around with sensitivity / curves in both the VPC Config software and DCS controls I just couldn't get a good sweetspot. Then I thought about how much a stick extension on my joystick improved the overall feel and thought, "why not an extension for the Mini-stick as well?" I didn't want to damage the existing stick and tried several contraptions using flat head screws, dowels, etc. attached with electrical tape or double stick tape, all of which were not secure enough. I found this cap on a tube of antiseptic cream and remembered that I had some large heat-shrink tubing and came up w…

  21. I bought one awhile back and got an email this morning that its being recalled. If you bought one from a third party you may not have received an email that is why I'm posting. If anyone has been following the 4090's power adapters melting. Then you know what an issue it has been and there is plenty of blame to go around. They have been failing for multiple reasons. One being people bending their cables to fit in their case. This is were Cable Mod comes in they made a 90 degree adapter but it would seem they are failing too. I own one just pulled it out and it looks brand new so I'm lucky. I ordered a vertical mount so I can fit my card and close my case. T…

After setting things up in DCS with advise from @Mouce and @Flyboy on Wednesday I was pretty happy with the spotting but didn't like the oversaturation, especially in the cockpit. The radar screen in the MiG-21 was way too saturated red to where I couldn't see the lines / pips. After messing around for a couple hours tonight I wound up with this FrankenHell. I'm going back to my original settings until I can overcome my aggravation. With all the talk of "Advanced" AI like chatgpt, I hope that it will evolve to the point of me just saying... "Siri, adjust settings for best long range spotting" or "Siri, give me best close-in identification" or "Sir…

You can keep your DLSS updated for DCS by downloading latest here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ and replacing the nvngx_dlss.dll into DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt in the main game directory (not the Saved Games Directory). Not sure that it helps anything but doesn't seem to hurt it either.
