WinWing has been showing some really nice hardware on their website but they were involved in some previous contracts and not able to produce. There was a 2-3 month delay... but they have apparently caught up and I was able to order the F-16 TQS a couple of days ago. Shipping was reasonable and timely. They have changed their website and it is now: STORE| WWSIMSTORE

JG1 is proud to present: Air Combat Multiplayer Events (ACME)! ACME is a series of homegrown one-shot competitions that use the IL-2: Flying Circus, IL-2: Great Battles, and DCS World Open Beta simulators. Some ACME events have the most basic rules, concentrating on fun-fly matches for the open community. Other ACME events are flown as serious online contests using “dead-is-dead.” In those matches, each player only has one pilot per night. Details regarding ACME events are always posted well before the event date, with clear instructions on what registered pilots and guests should expect. Our first ACME offering is “Aces Over the Rhine…

Hey all! This one’s for the mission makers in the crowd. I’m working on a mission where I’d like to place airfields on locations other than the default locations on the Arras map. How can I make these airfields viable ones to take off and land at? With what I have currently, terrain makes these tasks quite difficult.

Flight sims are a lot of fun and I love it, but it's not the real thing and won't pay the bills. I got my private pilot license in college, went on to become an Air Force pilot (large aircraft) and have flown for the airlines since 1995. I've already been helping one person interested in a pilot career and thought there might be others, so I thought I'd start this thread for anyone interested in aviation as a career or hobby. There are several of us here that have real life experience, either as a pilot or other area in aviation (mechanic, flight dispatcher, drone ops, etc.), and thought this could be a place for anyone who wants to ask questions or get some advice either…

This looks like a very useful APP for setting DCS controls across all modules. I'm going to give it a try maybe today.

Trivia: CLOSE COMBAT was one of the first Microsoft games that REQUIRED WINDOWS to be played. I *REALLY* wanted this one because it was akin to Avalon Hill "Squad Leader" for those of you over the age of 50. So they have made several games from supporting companies, independent companies (ATOMIC Games comes to mind?) but after about 4 or 5 of them it went dormant for a lot of years. Then when everything became DLC they popped up again with some new games on the same format. SO... STEAM has the whole kit and kaboodle on sale. It was $259.00 for a long time and I thought about getting it, but I had a couple of the games already and that soured the idea. SO today ou…

Looks like about 1.2 GB. Posted Tuesday at 03:13 PM Update 4.706 Dear Pilots! Battle of Normandy is getting closer and closer to that special moment - its release! Testing of the map and game modes will begin soon. New mission types are being created for the Normandy Career. Work is nearing completion on the last aircraft on the project list – the Me 410. All this is happening right now and the work is in full swing. However, at the same time, we try to release those elements of the project that are already ready without delay. So, …

It seems many of us don't know how to type multiple lines in a Discord post. As soon as you hit enter, it's posted... you were wanting multiple lines however. Here's how it's done: To type in multiple lines in discord, you have to initially put in three backtics (the Tilde key) then hit Enter. Type as normal... the enter key will make a second line, third line, etc... Once done, put in three more backtics then hit enter. Your post will be multiple lines. Example: ``` Discord can be such a PITA``` (Now hit enter to post) This site explains more about text formatting: https://www.writebots.com/discord-text-formatting/

Magnitude / Leatherneck Simulation announced in the Summer Update 2022 an overhaul of DCS: MiG21bis cockpit and systems: https://leatherneck-sim.com/2022/06/01/2022-summer-update/ The recreation of the 3D model and textures started by using photogrammetry techniques. After the release of their new F4U Corsair model, the works to accomplish a complete overhaul will become priority. I wouldn´t count to see the MiG21 overhaul in 2022, but looking forward to it with great pleasure.

I saw this video this morning and boy have I been looking forward to this one. Mike has really put out some of the best instructional videos out there, and this was the one I was waiting for. I was gonna put this in the DCS section, but really these concepts are applicable to all aircraft right down to the canvas birds, so I thought I'd put it out here. There are three main talking points, and Mike breaks down the exact logic and reasoning of when and why to use all of them. - The Tighten Down (TD) - Pulling harder than sustained for a short duration to spoil a guns solution, or at least make it more difficult. - The Out of Plane Maneuver (OOP) - Pushing the sti…

On a whim, I decided to try using VoiceAttack for keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop and... IT WORKS! Now I just have to remember what I wrote as the command but that won't take long. It really saves having to release the pen or mouse to type the shortcut. I imagine you can use it for keyboard shortcuts in pretty much any APP / Program that has shortcuts (Most all do).

We posted this on the Il2 forum but wanted to post here as well. JG1 has been a great partner over the years and we wanted to make sure you took the opportunity to try out these missions on our servers. The Wing Walkers are celebrating our 30-year anniversary. This flight sim squadron was formed in 1992, using the original Sierra/Dynamic "Red Baron" World War 1 based flight sim. The sim used Sierra's own "The Sierra Network" as the portal for flying on a TSN. Networks were all dial-up and beset with all manner of issues. Noisy phone lines often caused serious connectivity issues and the term "warping" came into existence. Technology improved and so did the sim…
