Having just discovered RoF about a month ago, it has been a meteoric experience. From starting off hardly being able to fly despite being an ex pilot and 4 years on ED I was a fledgling recruit again. As my flying began to take shape I searched for a group to join. As usual few Aussies about, EU group, wrong time zone, and then I put up a request in the RoF forums and was directed here. Intense training with Mox Vonrd and Klieg who really helped me take my flying sense to a new lvl. I have said it before however its worth saying again. The fact that the group has invested so much in me already deepens the bond of loyaty to the Jagdgeschwader. It was then I started to …

Salute JG1! When gathering matherials for thread under same title on 777 forums, I often come across facts that are interesting to fans of Jasta Boelcke or JG1, but too detailed for "general" WW1 aviation. I keep the copy of this thread on J2 forums to cover all the details like changes of leaders, bios of pilots most people never heard of etc, that would bore most people of 777 forums - and I have quite a lot on JG1 that's not suitable for that forum, too. So, I propose a thread dedicated to history of JG1, and squadrons that made it, posted 100 years after it unfurled. Please get rid of if you don't like the idea . And, of course, please contibute! I never wanted to…

Salute! WW Battles is a concept that we've been kicking around for a while and not really having an opportunity to implement until now. We ultimately envision these battles as a squad v squad event, one side plays Red, the other Blue. Play the same mission again in a couple of weeks and the squads switch sides from what they played previously. For this coming Tuesday, Vonrd suggested that JG1 might go Russian pending numbers of members wanting to fly Russian crates. Dubya suggested that if necessary we could flesh out the sides with WW members such as myself who don't particularly care what side we fly on. We'll leave it up to you guys to decide if that woul…

On the official ROF useful material page , is there some type of guide or list I could look at before downloading skin packs I'll never use ? https://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/45373-new-useful-materials-page-official-links/ Unless gifted I don't have any reason to buy allied planes so I don't need those skins. But,, since I have all central kites except for the Gotha and the float plane I'd like to have a few German skins that are not personal to others. Preferably JG1 if available. I was informed by a fellow squady that since they are no longer doing updates etc to ROF that contacting Butzzell ,,Vonrd or other skin masters for my own personal skins was a waste of…

Enjoyed watching this two part series last night. Good insight into the lives of a few top scoring WWI aces. CGI graphics not bad either. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078KW3Z4C/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_dp_c_uwMTAbQ25HE4V

Along with COD I always enjoyed playing FarCry when not flying online. Looks like you'll be able to get a touch of dog fighting in while you first person shoot with the latest FarCry5. Stealing the armed float plane at: 6:00 on this teaser vid.

Kameraden, The criteria, really interested to hear any input. Remember the format is we play the songs and vote for the strongest reaction for the round (everybody is 50+ years old in the room). So we are going to have 7 rounds of music. One for each year starting in 1964 and ending in 1971. (had to add that extra year since there were so many awesome songs.) Your task is the following: Pick one song that was RELEASED as an original in 1964, and another for 1965 and 1966 and so on until you have finished with 1971 – 8 years, 8 songs. Here’s the twist: You can select the original version from that year OR a cover of that same song (from any year…
