The movie was everything I'd hoped it would be. I will be buying it on iTunes the minute it comes out, despite the fact that I know it'll be on HBO 10 times a week and on demand.

Greetings gentlemen, this week's Sunday Vintage Mission will see us in the legendary Somme Offensive - Battle of Flers-Courcelette - 15 September 1916. Mission Start: 1900GMT Both sides will be given new orders in 45 min intervals. The Allied forces are on the offensive. Their air force has to support the ground troops by targeting tactical targets and flying photo recon patrols to determine the enemy defences. The Central forces are on the defensive. They have to make sure the Allied aircraft are kept away from the battlefield while the bombers attack the enemy's line of communications. Weather report: Heavy cloud cover at 5000ft/1400m, foggy. Wind 4 m/s, from the N…

Finally given up on my Thrustmaster Warthog. Could buy another throttle but my stick is on it's last legs as well. Not willing to shell out that kind of money on a stick again. Don't want a yoke. Any suggestions as to which stick I should get next?

You'll need to pony up $400 a year if you want to post your images stored on photobucket to this or any other forum. "Third Party Hosting" has been blocked on all but their 500 Plus accounts. That's the $400 a year plan. My images on this forum are no longer accessible. If I find another hosting service, I may update the image links on my posts here. But for now, consider them gone forever.

http://www.titanichg.com/ For those interested. It's an in-development recreation of the R.M.S. Titanic, that allows you to try it out with an early demo. http://www.titanichg.com/demo/ Their goal is to completely map out the entire ship in as much realism as possible. Here is what they've done so far: http://www.titanichg.com/progress-plan/ I've walked around a bit, and it's extremely impressive. Let me know what you guys think! I personally can't wait for this to be fully released.

I'm hoping by posting here someone may have an idea of a good strategy game that I may have overlooked. We will skip the Total War series which I do like but its not for this discussion. So I have played Company of Heroes Now its an ok game but I have a few beefs with it and it may help you with what I'm looking for. 1 I don't really care for base building or capture points for resources. 2 The only real good version was the Ardennes Campaign only because your companies took damage that would effect your next battle. 3 but your units did't gain experience between battles. Close Combat series I liked how you're regiments would get fatigued unless you pulled…

Salute! Today Ewald and I spent some quality time together patrolling a bridge in our backfield. At the very end of the game, I ran out of fuel, and Ewald had to fend for himself while I fired flares ineffectually from the ground. The first FE bombs while Ewald closes in on the second. The racket of machine gun fire is deafening... Ewald closes the gap. 8mm bullets tear gaping holes in the FE's fuel tank and rattle the pilot. The first FE comes back around, lining up for another run. Then tragedy strikes! Ewald's EIII is in the path of a reckless FE2B! The second enemy plane, crippled by Ewald's unerring marksmanship, limps off to die. …

I worked the Airshow Saturday. Morning was beautiful. Blue sky, gentile breeze and the day was shaping up to be perfect for an airshow. A few planes made test flights. At 12:15 we started to move the guests back to the spectator line in preparation for flight operations. Then a sea fog blew in from the north, the wind picked up and the ceiling dropped. No flying. In order to provide some entertainment for our guest, many of the aircraft were started up and taxied along the spectator line so everyone could get a good look at each airplane and at least hear the engines running. Not the same as flying, but the best we could do in the circumstances. I did…

I have recorded some video from CLOD during a session on a multiplayer server. They have the realism set and no outside views. Does this mean that I cannot get outside views when watching the video? None of the commands work when viewing the saved track. Sure would help me out if I could look around and see where the bombs are landing.

KNIGHTS OF THE SEA II With great thanks and appreciation to SYN_Vander, SYN_Waxworks, SYN_Bandy and all the crew of Syndicate Squadron, I'm pleased to announce a new Rise of Flight campaign Knights of the Sea II! The first Knights of the Sea was run some years back by Syndicate and was a great success. My hope is to resurrect this wonderful campaign event for the enjoyment of all in the Rise of Flight community. We will go full live June 4th and 11th. There is no practice / dry run. Historical background: The Germans renewed unrestricted submarine warfare in the spring of 1917. The British countered with a naval and bombing offensive to disrupt U-boat movements. Th…

Greetings gentlemen, preparations are nearing completion and the time is upon us! As it stands there will be a practice / dry run on June 4th so all pilots may familiarize themselves with the map and objectives of the campaign, then we go full on the following Sunday June 11th. This will be only one month past the 100th anniversary of the date the historical campaign is set which is in May of 1917. The practice session will be with navigation icons on, this will only show your position on the map, not target data of any kind. This I felt was necessary to allow people to practice the offshore navigation due to vastness of the map and the large amount of naval target…
