  1. Started by Razwald,

Here is a place to post and talk about Voice Attack and Voice Attack Commands.

  2. Started by Barton,

I was hoping to get online today but it seems I can't update IL-2 at the moment. Update keeps failing. Maybe the update server is down?

  3. Started by Britchot,

Found this thread today that enables a persistent scratchpad, works for VR. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=229077 Now, you can go to the F10 map or listen to JTAC, jot down a note, then go back to the INS to enter data.. Voice Attack can also narrate to the object, from what I see (post 50). I’ll be installing this, for sure!

I hope this will not be taken as nitpicking, but now might be the time to submit some feedback concerning the new forum mobile version as compared to the old one. Navigation: instead of showing a path with which you can jump directly to a forum section, the return button only shows the previous section and keeps going back only one section at a time in a serial fashion. If you're deep in a sub-forum, it can take as many as 4 back navigations (and page loads) to get back to the home section. Initial view: when you go to any section, your view starts at the top (original post). The old mobile version used to start at the bottom (most recent post). When you have s…

For you current or future "Virpils", as they're called on their website- I guess for quite a while now, intermittently, I've had problems with hot mike "deep breathing" with TeamSpeak because of using Voice Activation. It seems no matter how much I bump up the threshold, move my mic away from my mouth, and below, I still sometimes end up with folks hearing some mighty strange sounding voice inputs. Perhaps I've even managed to acquire a reputation for myself....this is embarrassing to say the least and always to be avoided. The whole thing is caused by what we in the trade call VOX (Voice Activated Squelch). Once a certain audio power threshold is exceeded, the sq…

I used to be able to delete my notifications on the "old" forum after I read them....and I do read them. I get a truckload of them (thanks for all the likes, fellas!). I haven't figured out how to actually delete them after the latest update. Anybody know how to do this? To clarify, I don't mean marking them read. Thanks!

  9. Started by Klaiber,

All, The jg1.org forums will be updated this weekend, 18 May through 20 May 2019. People should expect some slight forum instability and inaccessibility during late Sunday / early Monday (EDT). Everyone can continue to message and chat up until that point. However, there may be some posts lost as we close in on that time frame. After the update takes place, there will be some quality control needed, and that may keep the forums down until Monday night. However, things should return soon after. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

  10. We all know what a pain it is when some Windows update decides to change all of your joystick IDs in RoF. If you have a lot of devices, and lots of buttons axis' assigned on those devices, it can take a long time to fix, and it's easy to miss something. Instead of going through all of the pages in your current controls map inside the game, re-assigning every one that has to do with a joystick, and then re-saving the file, you can do this: First, start the game and determine what your current joystick IDs are, compared to your old IDs. Click in any open field of the controls map, and actuate a button (or axis) for each game controller; take note of what ID the ga…

  11. Started by Pragr,

I found strange feature yeasterday while flying RoF. My monitor went to sleep while fan on graphic card turned like mad after about 20 minutes of flight. Rest of PC worked OK, for what I can say I could hear and speak via TS like nothing happends. Seems this is just RoF issue since I played BoS the other day for about one and half hour and experienced no problems. First I thought there could be a problem with RoF installation. I'm unable to start setting.exe file once I updated the game. But this acts the same way even though I reinstalled the RoF from scratch. I never had such experience running the RoF under the Windows 7. I would be happy for any help. Thanks

  14. Alte Kameraden, As many of you know that fly with me, I've been having a problem with my control mappings freezing in game. Even after a fresh install, with Win10 it's still happening. Pretty sure it's related to modifiers Alt - Ctrl - Shift - Win. So I'm going to try and run Target with no keys mapped, with Combined Controls and no actual keybinds. Direct input, of course I'll need to decide which bloody controls are backwards per plane. Hoping to get a full day on this during the weekend. S!

  15. Hey Guys, following a long posting to describe a very strange issue I have with my PC system in the FiF events since I bought a new GPU last September (MSI GTX 1060 6 GB): After some time of flying the monitor suddenly goes into stand-by while the system (or at least parts of it) is still running. I can still hear the action in the game and even talk to the other players on teamspeak. But the Keyboard seems not to work, at least ALT+F4 or CTRL+ALT+DEL don’t have any effect Turning the monitor off and on again also has no effect, it stays in standby…. So in that situation the only thing I can do is a hard shut down of the system via on-off-switch. Yesterday the si…

This was a weird one so I thought I'd post it here for others to read. A couple of weeks ago I started an RoF QMB mission in order to practice or figure something out. When I pushed my throttle forward to start my take-off roll, nothing happened. Funny, I had checked my flight controls....elevator, rudder and ailerons all worked. Mixture and radiator seemed to respond. Must be a response curve problem for the throttle axis, I thought. Checked and found nothing wrong there....just no movement. I also checked the altitude throttle axis on another plane, and that didn't work either. Uh-oh! Got out of the game and started DIView. Normally when a controller …

  17. Started by Heinrich,

I had a terrible experience yesterday: my entire skin folder which i use for IL2 A/C has gone. Sub folders files everything, nothing in the dustbin, nothing found through recovery apps, just gone as if it never existed. My only luck is that I posted 2 days earlier some skins on Mediafire. But the last ones I worked on are gone, I have to start all over again (her should be an emoticon crying out it's eyeballs) And bought a bigger and faster external HD for a more regular back-up. I had some *.dds files for testing but they are not completely what I wanted.

S! For dome reason ROF reads the throttle position reversed. I tried the invert function in responses. No luck. I tried BOS. It was reversed but... the invert function worked fine. Very nice in FC. Others seen this problem? Any suggestions?

hey everyone. I got some tech questions. my little laptop I converted into my gaming system needs a serious upgrade! flying circus is beautiful but no matter how low I set my graphics setting... I get major lag on the multiplayer servers. especially on maps with a lot of water. so i'm looking to go all out and go for a complete VR setup. I got a nice little chunk of money set aside and after Klaiber was saying how amazing everything looked in VR, it had me thinking. unfortunately my tech savvy knowledge only deals with combustion engines and on board diagnostics in automobiles. so I need help trying to figure out the best setup I can get. i don't wanna end up with a subpa…

  21. Started by Labroisse,

So last week I tried to fly ROF Thursday night but the game kept crashing. I finally narrowed it down to the new Nvidia driver, 417.22. For anyone having trouble with this driver, ROF will work if the "full screen" box is unticked. Although this driver seems to have good performance in other games, lack of full ROF compatibility is a no-go for me so back to prior version. Ferd

Hi all, I hope this doesn't seem too stupid....some things I learned recently just because I had to take a closer look at things when remapping controls for new game controller hardware. However, I've played RoF since the very beginning, and never truly understood exactly what the view save function was doing, until now. The following are misconceptions I had, and what I learned. Maybe you already know this stuff, or found it obvious; I certainly didn't. First misconception: You can only save views to Numpad keys. Revelation: You're not actually saving views to the Numpad keys in and of themselves; you're saving them to "Pilot Head" functions in the Controls…

  24. Started by -Hawkeye-,

I just received my WarBRD joystick base, with Mongoose T-50 grip; and also my T-50 Throttle. Yeah, it took quite a while, but in general, the Virpil company seems able to deliver products that you might want better than the VKB company. If anything that you want is "out of stock", just like with VKB, you must apply to receive e-mail notification as soon as stock becomes available. The difference between VKB and Virpil, in my own experience, is that with VKB, bottom line, is that you'll never be able to actually get one. That means, if you get a notification from VKB that their product is available, by the time that you are able to get online and order one, it will alr…

  25. Started by Kliegmann,

I have a friend that plays Arma, Battlefield and Total War online on his computer. He has installed separate HDs for each of the games in is gaming computer. He swears that by doing so his games perform better. Is there really any benefit to doing such a thing, other than a whole lot of storage space you're never gonna use?
