  1. Started by Katze,

Hi Guys, Coming over from the Darkside for a few tests of IL-2 aircraft and scenarios, I am quite pleased to see pretty-good VR results compared to DCS. Having a good time mixing and matching my skills against some H2H AI at the moment and slowly getting my bindings set up. Cheers, Katze

  5. I installed Desert Wings shortly after it was released then life happened & I forgot about it. I just rediscovered it last night & made a few flights. I am biased in that the Desert War is one of my primary interests but I gotta say its very well done & I really enjoyed it. Anyone else playing it?

  6. Started by Vogel,

Curious if any of you are into the Paradox games like Hearts of Iron or Crusader Kings etc? I'm playing a bit more HOI IV these days, curious if anyone wanted to give a go on multiplayer at some point?

Just a quick update for those of you that might be on the 3rd P.G. forums - Pilots of other squadrons who have an account on our site have been updated to display their appropriate ranks and national wings as well as awards from J5 Flugpark's communal awards system. S!

  8. Started by Vogel,

Hi folks Sorry been absent from the forums and flight nights of late, works been busy and on top of that I've managed to catch the dreaded COVID. Currently waiting for it to bugger off and die. My symptoms are realtively mild at the moment, but the next few days will tell which way things will fly. Thankfully I received my Pfizer vaccine, however it doesn't reach 50% efficacy until 10 days post injection, which is tomorrow. I'm on day 7 of COVID since becoming symptomatic so I'm hoping that it's done something to keep my symptoms from progressing to the point where I need any more intensive treatment. Just feeling completely knackered with a fever and slight cou…

  9. So I'm watching Mark Felton's recent video on Balloon Busters, and I hear this story I'd never heard before of a Belgian named Willy Coppens landing his Hanriot on a balloon and waiting until it slid off to restart the engine and fly away. I pull up the Wikipedia page and it claims he did this intentionally only after he did it before accidentally. Whether or not those things ever happened, he destroyed a remarkable 34 balloons, lost a leg, participated in the resistance in WWII, and lived to be 94. I have a sudden urge to see what happens if I try to land a Hanriot on a balloon in ROF. I mean, has anybody? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willy_Coppens

  10. The WingWalkers are a twenty plus year old squadron with a long history in the flight sim community. We lost one of our flight leads last month after a short flight with cancer. Icy was our Flight Lead for Gold Flight, our bombing group. Icy flew with a positive spirit and a reckless abandon that made flying a lot of fun. We will miss him greatly. We will be flying the "Missing Man" formation in his honor on Tuesday night. We might blow some things up too, Icy would have been disappointed if we didn't. If you are interested in joining us send me a PM and I will share the server password with you. Salute WWGeezer CO WingWalkers

S! Wufnu of J4, previously of JG6, reporting. I remember some ~24 years ago when Somonul, Leep, myself, and others from JG6 were incorporated into JG1 to form J4, it was a very exciting time. I don't remember if Kessler and Flybert were with us prior or if they were the ones that recruited us. Had to leave around the time FIF came about due to college but came back later in the early 2000s and few some bombing runs of some sort. Apparently Lowen & Strick went onto great things afterwards 😆I remember something about promised lands, I still have my WFP folder (apparently they're up to 6 now?), and I think I missed FCJ. After that, I remember something about F…

S, all! With Flying Circus Vol. 2 right around the corner, I thought it would be nice to revisit the early days of Flying Circus to remind us how far along it's come (DMs and other craziness aside!) For that reason, I put together a brief history of Flying Circus' first organised community event in a little "Mini-Book", to be enjoyed by old FC pilots and newcomers alike. You can check it out Here ! Enjoy!

  15. Started by TedsOnMeds,

Salutations everybody! I hope everybody is having a wonderful Holiday season, my family celebrates Christmas and we've put our tree up and it got me to thinking it would be nice to see a little bit of everybody's setup, if they were comfortable sharing? I'll start! Ours is a cute LED number that was on sale at one of the local Hardware stores, fits perfectly on our smaller Refrigerator downstairs near the Fireplace room for my pre-prepped meals. I set out the Tree-Skirt and assembled it, as well as splayed out the branches. Mother and Sarah did the ornamentation! It's humble, but we really, really like it. It also acts like a floor light for the basem…

Another one issued today 3 hours ago, Sneaksie said: Dear friends, Another hotfix is on, hopefully it will maximize your quality of sim life in the New Year eve. 1. Saved zoom value in a cockpit snap view won't reset in multiplayer; 2. Tank commander of the free T-34 STZ tank has binoculars; 3. Damaged T-34 STZ tank tracks will be shown correctly; 4. T-34 STZ and Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.L free tanks look correctly from a distance when damaged; 5. Sturmjaeger Fw 190 A-8 modification has correctly looking cockpit side windows; 6. Sopwith Camel left aileron control wire looks correct.

  17. Started by Kliegmann,

New update is out. Seems they added crew and accessories to the free tanks. They may have also fixed the invulnerability issue with the free T-34.

To all my friends Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Joyeux-Noel One of two Christmas Movies that are a must watch in my house the other is It's A Wonderful Life! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424205/

VRNeckSafer I haven't tried this yet, but the reviews are pretty good.

  20. Started by Butzzell,

S! ALL Maybe I am just slow or missed something in the update notes. We have all discussed the new terrain bumpiness. Well, there is a new setting in the Graphics Settings panel. You will find "Terrain Roughness". I believe the default setting is low. I think if we set this to High, we could get some flying tanks. The really big news is that you can turn it off and it still gets rid of soggy ground. It does not smooth out everything but the FC planes now have about the same ability to land off field as RoF. Now to launch a Tiger over a farm..........

    BOx update today. This was interesting: The tank turret stays in place when the player switches from the gunsight view to another station and there are no visible enemy targets for AI gunner to engage;
